Teradata highlights some analytic use cases
A couple of slides in my recent briefing on Teradata’s Active Enterprise Data Warehouse Story contained long lists of analytic use cases, at a finer level of granualarity than I’m focusing on for a September speaking tour. I think they’re interesting to pass along.
The first, which seems to be meant to illustrate the need specifically for “Active” data warehousing, includes:
- While the teller is still interacting with the bank customer
- While the customer is still in the check-out line
- While the customer service agent is still talking/listening
- While the customer is still using the ATM
- While the web page is still in front of the customer
- While the customer is returning merchandise they never bought
- While the crook is still defrauding your telecomm company
- While the train is still being loaded
- While the supplier still has an on-sale or in-stock situation
The second, credited to somebody named Mike Ferguson, seems more general:
- Next best product
- Best prospect to call next
- Segmentation scores
- Churn predictor
- Risk for payment analyzer
- Customer loyalty advisor
- Relationship price optimizer
- Credit limit increase approval
- Services uses
- Supplier scorecard
- Probable fraud alert
- Most likely cross sell deal
- Risk threshold early alert
- Cash flow early warning
- Mark to market score
- Credit Limit Exposure
- KPI Dashboard metrics
- Pick/pack/ship efficiency
- Short status report viewer
- Regulatory compliance alert
- Repair-returns rate
- SLA achievement score
